This one is for antara mk1, anyway removing dpf will cut your fuel bills and give more live for the engine.

I would check first before removing your dpf - I am not sure but worth checking, new MoT rules state that if a DPF fitted at manufacture it must be fitted at MoT inspection.I read that somewhere, can't recall where - but do check first.

And indeed it is so - AA website...

Exhaust

A catalytic convertor fitted as original equipment but missing will be a reason for failure. <div ="displayInline rteContainer highlight">

From February 2014 the inspection of the exhaust system carried out during the MOT test will include a check for the presence of a Diesel Particulate Filter(DPF) . A missing DPF, where one was fitted when the vehicle was built, will result in an MOT failure.

Its also an offence to remove the dpf as its seen as an unlawful modification and would almost certainly invalidate you insurance.

Dodgy MOT's risk your life and others. It's a safety check first and foremost.
