Just a quick question, in my previous cars a pug 307 d turbo and renault megane, when I used morrisons fuel for a prolonged period I had faults occur such as emission lights and lumpy tick over etc.. I only run my antara on shell or bp but keep considering using sainsburys as it's 4p cheaper, anyone had any such experiences?

I've used supermarket fuel for at least the last 25 years. Never had any problems in all that time.

BP Ultimate from new, 10k miles now, probably wasting my money but it has the highest guaranteed cetane rating of any UK Diesel Fuel (55 if my memory serves me right) which, if the theory of Diesel combustion is correct, should give the cleanest burn, less soot less problems in my eyes.. I stopped using Shell V Power Diesel, they sell it as being part GTL (Gas Too Liquid) instead of the Bio Diesel content but this is actually not true some of it can be GTL but it depends which refinery it comes from so you would never know.

I only use Sainsburys diesel, mainly because its the cheapest around. I have never had a problem, in fact I achieved over 48mpg on my last tank 😊

At the moment I am using Tesco because of the fuel save, I am saving about 12p per Ltr. When that stops I shall go back to using Sainsburys as I get a better mpg with their diesel. At present the discount more than compensates for the difference

Does anyone use additives like blue X or such which suppose to help efficiency and keep engines burning clean?
