Although I am not quite in the market for a car air freshener at this stage, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for when the time comes when the "new" smell final ceases.

In the past and on other cars in my household I have and still use "Magic Trees" with "Black Ice" being my preferred option but it still isn't brilliant.

Anyone got a preferred brand and/or flavour?

I never use them just keep your Antara clean and use leather cleaner and conditioner and it will always smell like a new car.

Unless you have some really bad habits or a personal hygiene problem. Thankfully I have none of those so I'm okay but I can't vouch for the rest of you.

Tried the leather cleaner and conditioner on last car made a right mess of the velour seats

On to the answer now, i am using one of the new little Febreeze clip on air freshners, clips on air vent and at lowest setting not an overpowering smell, but does the job of eliminating damp westie smell.

I just knew that was coming from you

Just wait until "Milo" christens your squeaky clean Antara with nice muddy paw prints, a few loose hair, the odd break of wind and a doggy smell or two.

You may be in the market for a quick fix

ps How's he doing now ?

I bet you can't wait the two weeks or so until he takes you for "walkies" ?

You can get air fresheners that smell like new leather, that's the new smell you get

I don't want an air freshner that smells like leather, not do I want one that smells like a pine forest, a Japanese garden, a desert flower, an ocean wave or an African sunset. Not even an oriental house of ill repute.
Cut the bull!
I just want an air freshener that smells like a very good. malt.
What I am going to get is the memsahib wafting some expensive perfume she picked up in Paris on the way here and the story about how cheap it was 'cause they had a sale and there was 5% off the normal price and she got a free ticket to the next Paris Fasion Show (and, really, you don'y have to buy anything).
Hope she brings a bottle of Old Pulteney too. I am going to need it!

One thing the memsahib is unlikely to bring me is a Paris model. Not sure I would want one anyway as they are all like stick insects. Can you imagine taking one of them to dinner and sharing a lettuce leaf?
