I've been looking for an in car charger for my phone and the kids tablets. Came across this and it looks good and gets excellent reviews. Pricey though. Just wondering if anyone here has one and what they thought?

I have a cheap one from ebay but it buzzes and interferes with the radio so is not ideal.

I've got one from Halfords, about £8 it cost and it's fine. I don't need my charger to tell me where the car is parked...

Is there a USB socket next to the auxiliary socket in the central storage box? If so you don't need a charger, only the correct lead. Incidentally, the OM says that the cigarette lighter socket should not be used for charging purposes, i.e.

:A 12 Volt power outlet is located in the rear centre console and on the righthand side of the load compartment.
Pull the cap out to use the accessory socket, and replace the cap when not in use.
Do not exceed the maximum power consumption of 120 watts.
Operational with ignition switch in positions ACC or ON. Use of accessory sockets while the engine is
not running will discharge the battery.
Electrical accessories that are connected must comply with the electromagnetic compatibility
requirements laid down in DIN VDE 40 839.
Do not connect any current-delivering accessories, e.g. electrical charging devices or batteries.
Do not damage the outlet by using unsuitable plugs.

You learn something everyday, didn't know that! Would the same apply to using a sat nav plugged in?

Garage
The one in the centre console has enough power to light the cigar lighter, so can`t see a sat nav causing it a problem

I have gone to the other forum
