Washed, polished, hoovered and prepped inside for run down to Mablethorpe. I cannot go anywhere at a distance without the car being spotless, just never comfortable if it isn't clean.

Anyhow on a recent trip to Inverness sitting at a constant 50mph up the A9 the range was giving 675 miles to a tank and 39 mpg. My eyes nearly popped at this especially as its the automatic, wonder what the Mablethorpe trip will return.

A great feeling isn't it to have the car all clean for a trip! I did exactly the same a couple of weeks back before we went to the New Forest. 39mpg is great for the auto! Make sure you report back after your trip and have a great time 😊

Will do Matt. The auto is not as thirsty as some folk portray. It shows when you are not in a rush how economical it can be, but on the other hand it is good for the odd thrash down the motorway.

New Forest trips... keep an eye out for a black '13 plate SE Nav with a Cross-of-St-George on the tailgate - that'll be me - resident in the Forest, stomping ground around Godshill / Fordingbridge.
