I've been having some trouble with my blood pressure recently, so made an appointment with the Doctor to have it checked out.
He decided to change my blood pressure medicine and gave me a prescription.

I picked up the medicine from the chemist and when I got home I had a read of the info leaflet that came in the box.

To my horror, I discovered this medicine was dangerous for me to take due to a pre-existing condition I have. Had I taken the pills, it could have led to my tongue and throat swelling up and blocking my airway.

So I'm really glad I decided to read the leaflet and saw there could be a problem. The lesson here is read the info on any medicine before taking it. It could save your life.

Agreed.

You had a lucky escape there but that type of thing goes on every day. I suppose its just another excuse for GPs to say they are over worked and under too much pressure.
