What are your mirrors like? are they the milenco ones?
No they are Pyramid Rock Steadies.
They clamp on to the top of the mirror housing in the same way, but they also have two elastic bands with hooks.
These go round the back of the mirror and hook on to the bottom of the housing.
More secure I think.
Not that I have heard of any Milenco coming off.

I cant decide between the "suck-it-and see" ones

Or the ones like yours/milenco. tbh, i've never used mirrors in the 20 odd years of caravaning, but the wife say i have to use them!

Oh well, may just get a set and keep them in the boot cubbies, just in case& to keep her happy. cheers

Marcus

Not just to keep her happy, but the width of your caravan and Antara makes it a legal requirement also, as you can't see the required distances down and behind the caravan (just my two pence.)

I would go for the "fixed type" rather than the sucks.
That way you know they wont come off, and you get four mirrors to use, because they don't cover the existing mirror, like the sucks.

But you have only towed a few hundred meters from your house !!!

What on earth do you carry that needs a roof box as well, or was this still in the house moving phase ?

21mpg with a great lump of a van, roof box, and not the flattest of roads happy with that.

Yep Mat that was moving it up whilst doing house move, have final journey to do with small trailer after handing air force house back this Thursday. For interest that was total combo at weighbridge at 10 kilo under max train weight with full tank and me in it. So fuel economy not too bad for that weight.

My only criticism is having straight exhaust, rather than angled to floor, all the exhaust muck ends up on front of van.

Over 4 tonne and with the wind resistance of the roof box and caravan, returning 21mpg, can't moan at that really.

As for the straight exhaust and its muck, just be mindful that muck can cause contamination to the friction pads in the hitch head.

Make sure (sure you are aware)the towball and hitch pads are cleaned before each tow.

Looks a nice, and best of all not a common outfit.

All these vans look wonderful. Never had one myself. My sister did a lot of caravanning years ago, but I was always rubbish at towing. Could never work out which way to turn the wheel when reversing.
I lived in one with3 other guys for a few weeks while working away from homewhen I was much younger. It was a static van at the back of a pub. It was great you could fall out of the bar and straight into bed.
