Have you got the dedicated electrics ( green tow bar light on dash ) as I think when light is on the Antara goes in what you would call tow mode rear level suspension etc

Yup , yup and yup. I actually meant the car felt fragile rather than towing performance. Im suffering with fault codes, and now the clutch/flywheel is rattling and squeaking. Just as well I kept my old Monterey!

Hi paul. Just got around to getting back on forum!! Did a tow to Cornwall and got 29.8 mpg. 1450 is vans max weight and I'm sure that it was quite close to the limit. My wife likes to take the full wardrobe 😁

I have a Swift challenger 580 and when we first started to tow it (having been towing for 20 years) it seemed to be a bit unstable. Heavy item over the axle, noseweight at 80Kg ????? WTF
Checked tyres - 55/58psi. Manual says 65psi, seemed a bit high but gave it a go and it towed like a completely different van

My wife says that I never listen or something like that !

I must admit that the antara comes into its own when on motorways and towing so long as that right foot takes it easy and not too fast.

50mph is the magic figure, however if your travelling 400/500 miles its no fun
I have achieved 29mpg towing and nearly 48 solo, but driving like a nun

My Volvo xc60 will achieve 55mpg solo with ease and 35/38 towing I was gobsmacked.Edited by: chrisg
