Angry New ECM !!! in a 2013 Antara?

Hi Guys, my antara (62 plate) has been diagnosed as needing a new ECM and the cost all in is £2975!!! has anyone else had an issue with the ECM and can offer some advice please?
I've told the Vauxhall main dealer not to go ahead with the job until I've scoured the net to see if others have suffered the same fate. Surely this part should last longer than five years....

Have you tried any of the companies that speciaslise in testing and repairing ECU's? (ECU is the same as ECM). They can often repair your ECU and some offer a lifetime guarantee. The Series 2 Antara uses an Infineon Tri-Core processor.
