I have a '09 Antara 2.4 with this weird windscreen wiper problem.

Every time I start the engine the wipers turn on for 3 times and then they stop in the middle of the windscreen. Note that the wiper lever is in the off position and that I don't have an automatic wiper function.
I have to pull and hold the lever down to bring them back in zero position.

That said is that while I use the lever to bring them down, the headlights turn on.
And as I said I have to keep the lever down to operate a one time wipe.

The headlights works normally.

Has anybody seen this problem? Or have any clue where to start troubleshooting?

Thanks in advance!

I've heard of this but can't remember where. Believe the answer involves stripping the wiper motor and rer-setting the parking mechanism but can't be specific. Hope somebody can help.
