HI guys, I've had a 2013 Nav SE manual diesel from new and I've just bought the same again 2016 model.
When test driving it I noticed a “shift” light came up on the dashboard encouraging me to change gear.
I was wondering if there were any other modifications that had happened since i bought the 2013 model?

It's a good question and I'm not imtimately aware of the differences between the models. Did your 2013 have the Stop / Start fitted? Did you have the CD30 or the CD40 entertainment fitted, I'd imagine there might be differences in the steering wheel controls. On the BC display do you have teh Slippery Road warning when the temp goes below 3 deg?

I'd assume the Tyre Pressure Monitoring System would also be new.

The 'shift' light threw me at first - it appears at 2000rpm - but other forum members suggested it is best ignored.
To see the differences (if any) you might download the 2013 and 2016 OMs from Vauxhall's site (together with the Antara equipment list) and compare them. There are features within the OM to be discovered which aren't immediately obvious, e.g. the SE Nav has a heat reflective windscreen which the other models do not have.

"why do you need a light to tell you when to change gear"

I have a wife that does that, also acts as an early warning system to prompt me to brake oh and a radio station / music critic... Pity she doesn't have a "mute" button

In the good old days the back of your hand was an effective mute button for them. Not PC these days I'm afraid.
