Well the wifes 2002 Focus Ghia is getting old and tired after running it for 15 years! We opted for another Focus ( she likes her heated front screen!) and bought a 2011 34k miles1.6 petrol Zetec at AvailableCar in a striking candy red for 6.5k after haggling.... very nice car looks almost new low miles and got quite a few bells and whistles to confuse my better half. But despite being quite econmical 50mpg on a 250 mile trip to Ipswich and back in traffic, it pulls like a salmon going through treacle, may be me as the Antara lacks nothing in the get up and get off department, the Focus goes well but you need to feed its 125 horses with a lot of right foot to get her spinning up to speed. Oddly enough the seats are best described as "crap" compared to the old Focus, poor support and hard to get right. I can only assume that Mr and Mrs Golightly had the car before us.I think we will get used to it but the dearest is keeping the old focus for a bit!!!!
I reckon I will have to sell the old car when shes out!

Thats the problem with petrol cars in my opinion. They lack the torque that diesels have. I had an x type jaguar 2-0 V6 150bhp, you would think it went like stink, it did but you had to wellie it. I then got the diesel version, 10 times better and a more relaxed ride.
Petrol cars need a turbo to give them low don torque, but that all depends on your own personal opinion.

My wife says that I never listen or something like that !
